Magnificent Mile Project

Below are a few pictures from a project I had in my Design Specialties class. For the summer of 2007, the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association wanted to create a fashion installation that would be displayed in the mini gardens along Michigan Avenue. Each garden is affiliated with the company closest to it, so every person in the class was assigned to represent a company.

A wearable garment was also made to compliment the piece.

I represented Monaco Business Development at 625 N. Michigan Ave. Their theme was a minimalist 60's mod style.

Oh, and did I mention that everything had to be water/ weather proof?

I used window screen for the silhouette, polyester fabric for the dress, and silk flowers for decoration. I sprayed the fabric and flowers with a waterproofing spray made for fiber.

This is my wearable garment.
